Student Spotlights: Spotlight On Our Student Lucas

Student Spotlights: Spotlight On Our Student Lucas

Friday, 27 May 2021

This week, we spotlight our second-grader Lucas, who joined ISR in first grade. Lucas is a ray of sunshine and had no problems adapting quickly at ISR.

He feels very comfortable and loves going to school, as Supervisor Mr. Mo confirms with a laugh, “When Lucas is picked up by his father, it can sometimes take a while. Lucas enjoys the time after school with his friends and would love to spend the whole evening playing with them on the playground.”

In academics, he is extremely determined. He actively participates in class and is always prepared to answer any questions. His music teacher, Ms. Bucher, sees a lot of potential in Lucas and says about him, “Lucas has so many good qualities.  He’s funny and quick-witted.  He’s also very musical.  But I think my favorite quality is his empathy.  He is very concerned about his classmates’ feelings, never wanting anyone to feel sad, left out, or hurt.  In Music class, he is leading the story-writing group for a project and really wanted to be sure that everyone received recognition for their good work.”

We are very proud to spotlight Lucas one of ISR’s many outstanding students!

Every Friday, our Student Spotlight Project aims to highlight one of our outstanding students who represent our school motto, “we enable great minds and strong characters”. No matter if it is academic success, special commitment or outstanding character traits – we look forward to sharing each of these success stories.

ISR´s AirBeenBee

ISR’s AirBeenBee

Thursday, 20 May 2021

What better way to celebrate World Bee Day than by opening our very own AirBeenBee?

Our Kindergarten teachers have come up with a very special, sustainable, and creative idea for our Kindergarten students. Our AirBeenBee hotel lives up to its name and offers bees enough space to lay their eggs as well as enough food in the garden of the kindergarten during the summer months. It was explained to our kindergarten children beforehand what an important role bees play in our ecosystem.

Today, we held the opening ceremony for the grand AirBeenBee and our Kindergarten students were the first excited visitors. They explored the grounds with great interest and gained insight into the bees way of life. We would like to thank our great kindergarten teachers for their creative ideas, which are not only educational but also great fun for our students. The whole concept is creatively thought out, and we are all convinced that our children have once again understood and witnessed the special importance of bees for our nature!

Visit of the new JISD School Director

Visit of the new JISD School Director

Tuesday, 4 May 2021

Today, we had the great honor to welcome the new principal of the Japanese International School Düsseldorf (JISD).
Ms. Teramura was accompanied by Mr. Sasano, the deputy director of JISD.

For many years, ISR has enjoyed an active and growing Japanese Community as well as a trusted partnership with JISD. Today’s visit strengthens a friendship that has existed between the two schools for many years.

As our new ISR Kindergarten in Düsseldorf is in the immediate neighborhood of JISD, the two institutions have established a friendly partnership from which both sides benefit. The successful visit of JISD to ISR Neuss will be followed by a visit to our Kindergarten in Düsseldorf Niederkassel.

It was a great pleasure for us to welcome Ms. Teramura and Mr. Sasano today, and we wish the JISD community a great start to their new school year.
