High Tech Campus
High-tech screens in classrooms, E-books, virtual reality goggles, 3D printers, and modern computer rooms provide an all-encompassing learning experience. In doing so, we wish to emphasize that technology does not replace traditional learning materials, but complements them to obtain an in-depth understanding of the subject at hand. For example, our students can use virtual reality goggles to explore ancient Rome in their History lessons or study the solar system in their Physics lessons. For more information about ISR’s extraordinary IT-supported education, please take a look at these German newspaper articles FAZ, the Handelsblatt, WAZ, and the Rheinischen Post.
In collaboration with the company Dahua, we have produced a video showcasing the advantages of state-of-the-art screens in our classrooms and teaching environment. This video effectively highlights the positive impact of these displays on our educational approach.

The ISR Library
The ISR library has grown and developed over the past few years and now has over 25,000 books.
Reading programs are run for many classes in the library: the Antolin program helps to develop students’ skills in reading German and the Accelerated Reader (AR) Program to develops students’ reading skills in English. The AR Program has been run in the library for the last number of years and the students really enjoy the experience.
The library also hosts a newly founded Book Club, comprising of Grade 5 and 6 students, which meets once a week as part of their SEA activity. Also new in the library, this year is a Question Bank of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology questions for IB students. These are available on PCs in the library.
Family Open Hours are Wednesdays and Fridays 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM. Families can come in during family open hours and create a family account if they do not already have one. There is no limit on the number of books that can be checked out on a family account. Books can be checked out for a period of two weeks and can be renewed for a further 2 weeks, if required.
Sports Facilities
At ISR, we are proud to offer an extensive range of exceptional sports facilities, enabling us to rival – and often surpass- many international schools across North Rhine-Westphalia and Germany. These top-tier facilities are directly accessible to our students, providing ample opportunities to develop their skills across diverse sports disciplines, as well as allowing us to host prominent international sporting events.
Our purpose-built, state-of-the-art sports hall is designed to accommodate up to three physical education classes simultaneously, thanks to electronically operated dividing curtains that maximize available space. The hall features specialized floor markings suitable for badminton, basketball, handball, football, indoor hockey, and volleyball. A standout feature of our sports hall is the indoor climbing wall, which offers both beginner-friendly and advanced climbing routes.
Beyond the indoor facilities, ISR benefits from exclusive access to the adjoining sports complex, an integral part of our campus. This expansive outdoor area includes grass and cinder football fields, a cinder running track, a long jump and triple jump sandpit, and specialized athletics equipment for running, jumping, and throwing. Additionally, our campus features several tennis courts, a beach volleyball court, basketball courts, and football pitches, providing a comprehensive outdoor sports environment.
Together, these outstanding facilities support our commitment to fostering physical fitness, teamwork, and competitive spirit alongside academic excellence.
Cafeteria & Lunch
Our catering team always ensures balanced and healthy whole food with plenty of vegetables, cereals, fresh salads, and only the best ingredients. Our School Catering Team Broich offers complete menus every week made from 100 percent organic products, which we label separately on the menu. We want to play a big part in helping our children learn how important healthy nutrition is at an early age, and especially how much fun it is. Find more information about Broich and the lunch registration form on this page.
For children who prefer to take their lunch from home, there are possibilities for them to heat up the food in the cafeteria and eat together there with their friends.
Further, our school Kiosk offers sandwiches, sausages, drinks, and other small snacks.
Music Rooms & Equipment
Our two music rooms are equipped with numerous instruments such as violins, guitars, and drums, just to mention a few. There are also 15 computers equipped with special software to provide the students with almost endless opportunities for musical development. Thanks to this software, students can compose their own music and then record it professionally.
ISR hosts two major student concerts each year, to which parents and friends of the school are invited. But at other events, internally as well as externally, our students delight the audience with their musical performances.
