Student Spotlights: Spotlight On Our Student Daniel

Spotlight On Our Student Daniel

This week, we spotlight our eleventh-grader Daniel, who joined ISR in Grade 5. Since then he has convinced his teachers with his great sense of humor, engagement, and determination. “He is our very own Arsene Lupin! Charming and eloquent, confident in the knowledge that it is only a temporary setback. Why Arsene Lupin? ” Well, he is a master escape artist, having successfully liberated himself from Escape rooms from Moscow to Düsseldorf during class trips. And each time in a different language.”, as his teacher Mr. Beck adds.

He also stands out for his excellent social skills and already publishes his own online magazine. During classes, he always contributes intelligent arguments. “Daniel brings his contagious enthusiasm to the world of video, podcasts, marketing, and communication. With a warm smile and a dedication to exploring new horizons.  My team and I have had the pleasure of working with Daniel, and we are eagerly anticipating his next project. With his unmatched creativity, we can’t wait to see what he has in store for our ISR Community – especially now, as he is working on something truly exciting!”, as Ms. Poestges, Head of ISR Marketing adds.

We are very proud to spotlight Daniel, one of ISR’s many outstanding students!

Every Friday, our Student Spotlight Project aims to highlight one of our outstanding students who, in line with this year’s theme, is striving for “extraordinary achievements” on a daily basis. No matter if it is academic success, special commitment or outstanding character traits – we look forward to sharing each of these success stories.

Student Spotlights: Spotlight On Our Student Ben

Spotlight On Our Student Ben

This week, we spotlight our eighth grader Ben, who joined ISR in Grade 3. Ben is an engaged student who actively participates in classes and always gives his best. He has a great sense of humor and is well-known for his funny jokes. Also, his teacher, Mr. Nisic, appreciates his excellent sense of humor and adds, “During Class, every comment from him is in just a perfect moment and makes perfect sense. Everybody likes him and his jokes”.

In addition, Ben is very talented. He was recently accepted into the Haus der Talente children’s and youth academy. The aim of the academy is to provide children and young people with special talents with sustained support in their individual abilities. The selected students are given the opportunity to meet role models and renowned professional representatives in discussions and workshops over the course of a year, to further develop their methodological skills and to implement an independent project. We are very proud of him and already excited to see the results of his time in the project. Ms. McLeod, Head of Secondary School, concludes, “Ben embodies academic excellence, is a critical thinker, and contributes great ideas outside the box”, true to our motto: It´s cool to be good.

We are very proud to spotlight Ben, one of ISR’s many outstanding students!

Outstanding Results – Jugend musiziert Competition

Tuesday, 8 February 2023

We are delighted to announce that all 15 participating ISR students have achieved first placements at the regional competitions of Jugend musiziert Landeswettbewerb NRW in Rhein-Kreis-Neuss, Mönchengladbach, and Düsseldorf!

Our students showcased their talent by playing the piano, the violin, and saxophone.

Our violin duo, Addison and Avery, won a commendable score and secured 1st place. Yuki and Valentin, our saxophone duo, also secured a 1st place. Moreover, we are especially proud of our student Peter on the piano, who was forwarded directly to the State Competition due to his impressive performance, achieving the 1st place in the piano category. Peter was honored with a special prize from the German Association of Musicians for the best interpretation of a work by a female composer. Moreover, Daniel achieved the 1st place in the piano competition and is also forwarded to the State Competition. All in all, we have eight ISR students, who achieved the 1st place in the piano category and three students, who achieved the 2nd place.

It’s always wonderful to witness the dedication and enthusiasm with which our students and teachers take on these challenges, having often spent months preparing and are proof of ISR’s motto: It’s cool to be good!

We wish to congratulate all participants, their dedicated teachers and our in-house music school, Musicbox Oxana, and look forward to the next competitions!

Student Spotlights: Spotlight On Our Student Aniego

Spotlight On Our Student Aniego

This week, we spotlight our talented musician Andiego, who is currently in grade 3 and joined ISR in kindergarten. Aniego loves to learn, always has many questions during lessons and helps everyone to think in new and different ways. He is also passionate about reading, music, and computers. He always has a smile on his face and a helping hand for anyone who may need it. In addition, he is very family-orientated. If he sees his little brother somewhere, he always hugs him whenever their paths cross during the school day.

His great passion is music, in which he is incredibly talented. His music teacher at ISR, Ms. Bucher,  describes him like this “Aniego is a very hardworking, talented musician. He has just won 1st prize in piano for his age group at the Regional level of the Jugend Musiziert competition, earning 24 of 25 points! Aniego is a multi-instrumentalist who has said he wants to learn how to play every instrument. But what thrills me most of all about Aniego is how kind and considerate he is to his teachers and classmates. He is very socially competent, greeting even the staff members he doesn’t know with a friendly smile. Aniego’s star shines bright! I can’t wait to see the places this wonderful kid will go in life!”

We are very proud to spotlight Aniego, one of ISR’s many outstanding students!
