During her four years at ISR she has made great progress. Her last year’s homeroom teacher, Ms. Schmidt, knows Emma quite well and even though she is no longer her teacher, she has left a lasting impression.

ISR at the Sunflower Festival in Meerbusch

ISR at the Sunflower Festival in Meerbusch

Sunday, 25 September 2022

Last Sunday, we participated in the traditional Sunflower Festival in Meerbusch 🌻

“At ISR, we help our students grow and blossom – leading to a happy, successful, and fulfilling future for your child” was written on a greeting card attached to 600 bright and beautiful sunflowers that we distributed to all visitors. Of course, never one to miss a chance, our mascot Spirit also happily handed out sunflowers!

With our musical partner, Musicbox Oxana we presented ourselves on-site and offered the children various fun activities. Young visitors were invited to write their own postcards, have their faces painted, or dive into the world of virtual reality through our VR glasses that we are using for educational purposes in class at ISR!

Another highlight was the successful participation of an ISR Family in the stage program -their jazz performance was sensational!

We sincerely thank our ISR teams from our branches in Düsseldorf, Meerbusch, and Neuss for their support on-site as well as the organizer for another successful Sunflower Sunday in Meerbusch!

Taking responsibility and developing social awareness – a joined event with the St. Augustinus Memory Center in Neuss!

Tuesday, 20 September 2022

Taking responsibility and developing social awareness – is an essential component of CAS (Creativity, Activity, and Service) instruction at ISR. CAS is central to the philosophy of the IB Diploma program at ISR and enables students to enrich their personal and interpersonal development through experiential learning.

As part of World Alzheimer’s Week, ISR hosted more than 100 residents, family members, and staff from the neighboring St. Augustinus Memory Center Neuss on the PSV grounds for an event filled with music, games, and a shared barbecue.

For many years, ISR and the Memory Center Neuss have been involved in numerous projects in the artistic field, in which students from ISR are involved. This time again, ISR students delighted those present with their performances and were happy to put a smile on the guest’s faces.

A huge thank goes to our students Yuki and Valentin for their performances with saxophone and violin as well as our CAS Coordinator, Mr. Urban, for organizing the event.

All participants could spend a special day on the sports field of ISR and we are already looking forward to many more projects with the St. Augustinus Memory Center in Neuss!
