Successful Summer BBQ – Grades 1 - 4

Successful Summer BBQ – Grades 1 – 4

Monday, 30 August 2021

We successfully held another ISR BBQ last Friday – this time we were joined by our Primary School community. Despite the very unpredictable weather, we did not let ourselves be put off but rather, we enjoyed the BBQ together to the fullest. The event was opened by our School Director, Ms. Lyons, as well as Ms. Farrand, Head of the Primary School and our Deputy Director, Mr. Cete.

Our Sports Department organized a comprehensive sports program for our students, comprising of different stations where fun activities were guaranteed. In addition to participating in various sports activities, our students also had the opportunity to get their face painted by our talented students and teachers. We also invited two very adorable guests, the ponies, which the students got to hug, pet and ride!

As all of this fun was taking place for the students, parents were able to re-connect with each other and enjoy the delicious food provided by our school caterer Broich. There were various information booths at the event, from SLO® Activities and Bus Information to our ISR Merchandise Shop and of course a Stuff your Spirit station. We are very happy that we were able to create an environment for a nice get-together on-campus.

We wish to extend our sincere thanks to our dedicated SLO® Team, who actively supported in the preparation and implementation of the BBQ as well as our Sports Department. A big thank you also goes out to the entire Primary School team for making the event a memorable occasion and of course our school caterer Broich Catering for the delicious food.

It was certainly a fun afternoon and such a wonderful experience to welcome families back on campus at ISR!

Social Commitment is an important matter for our students at ISR. Our CAS classes at ISR promote social awareness, and the students, in turn, support projects close to their hearts.

One such example is that of our Upper School Student Daniel, who sells his art for a good cause. Buyers can decide whether they wish to donate the proceeds to a children’s hospice or to the flood victims (German Red Cross). Over the past few weeks, Daniel has set up a booth at our community events, where he exhibited and also very successfully sold his art!

Our staff is also very keen to support such impactful projects! Mr. Cete, ISR Deputy Director, purchased his first piece of art from Daniel! Mr. Cete has kindly decided to have the art piece hung in the admin area of the school to showcase Daniels talents and of course to shine a light on his charitable endeavors! 😊

All of Daniel’s artworks can be found on the following website: https://www.isr-shop.de/students-for-charity/.

An amazing project and we are proud that the whole ISR Family is happy to support him and the good cause!

Successful Summer BBQ – Kindergarten

Monday, 23 August 2021

Last Friday, we celebrated with our kindergarten families a cozy get-together that included a delicious BBQ in a safe outdoor setting. Our school caterer, Broich Premium Caterer, provided our families with delicious treats and it was a wonderful afternoon.

In the spirit of our ISR Family Fun & Sports Day, our dedicated kindergarten teachers organized various fund-filled stations and activities where the children could do sports or some creativity. One of the highlights were our special guests – two ponies – on which the children were allowed to ride a small round around the grass. It was a wonderful afternoon and we were all very happy to be able to spend it together again.

We sincerely thank our kindergarten teachers for their creative ideas and for organizing such an amazing program for our students. We also thank our school caterer Broich Premium Catering for the delicious BBQ.

Yesterday, our First Graders celebrated a very special event and a milestone in their lives: their first day of school at ISR! In order to honour this special day, we cordially invited our families to enjoy a morning of celebration in a safe, beautifully decorated ceremony that took place on our school campus.

ISR School Director, Ms. Lyons, opened the festive ceremony with inspiring words for the young ones, followed by words of welcome from Mr. Soliman, ISR School Proprietor. Our Primary School Academic Coordinator, Ms. Morris, moderated the ceremony and invited our wonderful fifth-grader Hannan to the stage to perform the ISR School Song for those in attendance. Following her beautiful performance, all first graders were invited to come on stage to receive their traditional Schültüten – accompanied by loud applause from the audience!

With eyes beaming with pride their parents, grandparents and teachers watched the ceremony and gathered together afterwards for a reception. We are very grateful to have been part of this moving ceremony and we wish all of our students the very best for their educational career path at ISR – where it´s cool to be good!
