Behind ISR’s Colors
At ISR International School on the Rhine, our colors – blue, yellow, and red – are much more than a design choice. They tell a story about our foundation, our values, and our vision for every student.
Founded in 2003 by the Rhein-Kreis Neuss, the City of Neuss, the Chamber of Commerce Mittlerer Niederrhein, and leading international companies, ISR was established as a place of educational excellence, diversity, and international spirit.
Our Advisory Board today still includes many of our original founders, ensuring their vision continues to shape our school.
Blue, yellow, and red – the three primary colors – were chosen for ISR’s identity in reference to Piet Mondrian, the Dutch pioneer of modern abstract art. In art, primary colors are the foundation from which all others can be mixed, yet they themselves remain pure and unique; no two can create another.
This symbolism inspires our educational philosophy: every student at ISR is unique, just like each primary color. Our founders’ vision was for ISR to provide an outstanding, value-driven education that acts as a solid foundation, empowering each student to become anything they wish. Just as primary colors can create an infinite spectrum, our educational environment enables individual potential to unfold in countless directions – while honoring the singular character of each student.
At ISR, our colors are therefore far more than just a visual appearance – they are a promise: to value individuality, to provide a solid foundation for development, and to accompany each child on their personal educational journey – wherever it may lead.
