Indian Consul General Visits ISR

Tuesday, 12 March 2019

Today, we had the honor to welcome the Indian Consul General Ms. Parkar to ISR. She was accompanied by Mridula Singh, Education Officer & Social Secretary to Ms. Parkar. Our Management Team, along with some of our Kindergarteners and members of our Indian community, welcomed the General Consul and Ms. Singh.

Both of them came from Frankfurt to the Rhineland to get to know the Indian community at ISR, which is now one of the largest country groups at the school. During the meeting, the group discussed various ways in which a cooperation between the school and Ms. Parkar can be intensified. In addition, the parents reported on their personal experiences at the school and in Germany.

As an international school, we value the opportunity for our international families to have the chance to interact and connect with their diplomatic representatives. Thank you to Consul General Parkar and Ms. Singh for your visit!

Online Safety Parent Workshop

In our current times, children are being exposed to technology earlier than ever before and we at ISR believe that it is extremely important that we educate parents and teachers about how children are using the internet so that we can help guide them and keep them safe.

With this in mind, ISR held  our first Online Safety Workshop for Grade 1 and 2 parents last Friday. Ms. Brand, our IT teacher, put together a great workshop covering topics including YouTube, Instagram, other social media platforms, and general online safe practices. For those of you who were unable to attend, you can find Ms. Brand’s presentation and other useful documents related to this topic here;

Each player completed a total of seven games in the game mode “Swiss System”. The students of ISR did very well and landed in the middle of the field. Worthy of mention are the achievements of Arwand, Sashaank, Mehul and Mudit, all of whom achieved a positive game record.

Random Acts of Kindness Week

Today, ISR kicked off the beginning of Random Acts of Kindness Week with the simple goal of spreading kindness across the ISR community. Our Student Life Organization has organized a variety of activities including anonymous compliment bags, student-teacher quotes, Valentine’s Day Card sale, spirit day and a bake sale.

This busy week aims to promote compassion, fairness, gratitude, respect, friendship, responsibility, and integrity. Everyone can use more kindness in their lives and this week ISR is proud to support spreading positivity and love to all those in our community and beyond!

In honour of this week, we have asked parents to share with us any ‘shout-out’s’ that they have about our ISR staff. See here what they have to say!

Students visited the Tonhalle Düsseldorf

Students visited the Tonhalle Düsseldorf

Thursday, 07 February 2019

Grade 2 visited Tonhalle for a production of ‘Peter and the Wolf in Düsseldorf’. In Music class, students prepared background information on an assigned character along with a prop to symbolize the character.

A representative from each class presented the class’s research to the rest of the audience and the musicians. Students received an up-close look and listen to the flute, oboe, French horn, bassoon, and clarinet. And as the piece was narrated exclusively in German, students received and extra dose of German!

Turkish General Consul Visits ISR

Turkish General Consul Visits ISR

Wednesday, 30 January 2019

Today we had the honor of welcoming Turkish General Consul Ms. Gürel to ISR. Our school management team, our Turkish parent community, and our kindergarteners warmly welcomed General Consul Gürel with a poster handmade by our KG students.

After the warm welcome, everyone gathered in the conference room and had a lively and insightful discussion about our school and other related matters.

At ISR, we value the importance of our international families from over 41 nations and we strive to make connections across these international groups. We are particularly pleased that the Turkish General Consul took time out of her busy schedule to visit the school and to meet with the families. Thank you.

A special thanks goes to our dedicated Turkish mothers, who lovingly decorated the conference room in advance and provided a delicious traditional buffet for our important visitor!
