Student Spotlight: Spotlight On Our Student Lukas

Friday, 8 October 2021

This week, we spotlight our dedicated eighth-grader Lukas, who has been a part of the ISR community since fifth grade. Lukas is a very active school member and is especially involved in the ISR SLOⓇ department. In his role as Senior Prefect in the Activities Department, he shines with enthusiasm and drive. He is incredibly team-oriented, ambitious, and outgoing. At past ISR BBQs, Lukas has shown great dedication and has been a huge component to the successes of the events. He stands out for his willingness to help and his open as well as cheerful nature. Ms. Bezuidenhout, Student Life Coordinator, also recognizes Lukas’ great potential and adds: “Lukas is a positive and energetic young man whose enthusiasm is contagious. His involvement in the SLOⓇ department is exceptional, and he demonstrates a positive attitude toward classmates during group projects and activities. He is always willing to help and is a dedicated senior prefect in the SLOⓇ activities department.”

Lukas is also very interested in world politics which is why he also participated this week in the school’s MUN(Model United Nations) conference, which was independently organized by ISR students. The “Model United Nations” is an educational simulation in which students can learn about diplomacy, international relations, and involves researching, public speaking, debating, and writing skills in addition to critical thinking, teamwork and leadership abilities. Head of Middle School, Ms. McLeod, adds in conclusion: “Luke is a very intelligent and motivated student. He participated in the Junior MUN conference this week and was one of the youngest participants. He is a very active member of the ISR community, often assists with various school events, and is a wonderful member of the ISR family!”.

We are very proud to spotlight Lukas, one of ISR’s many outstanding students!

Every Friday, our Student Spotlight Project aims to highlight one of our outstanding students who represent our school motto, “we enable great minds and strong characters”. No matter if it is academic success, special commitment, or outstanding character traits – we look forward to sharing each of these success stories.
