Spotlight On Our Student Yara

This week, we are proud to spotlight our tenth-grader, Yara.

Yara joined ISR in 2018 and has been impressing her teachers with her positive attitude, strong work ethic, and organizational skills ever since.

Ms. Racheva, Yara’s Sports Teacher has many wonderful things to say about her. “I had the pleasure of teaching Yara since she was in the 5th grade. From the first day of class, Yara impressed me with her smile and positive attitude. She is a sporty, enthusiastic, and energetic person. Yara’s personal strengths are also impressive. She has an active and outgoing presence in class with a great sense of humor. Yara is the perfect person to get a group project rolling, but she also knows how to sit back and let others take the lead.”

Ms. Racheva goes on to say, “Yara is a trustworthy, reliable, and good-humored student and friend, who supports others in and out of the classroom. Her positive attitude and belief in herself, even in the face of difficulty, is an immensely admirable asset. I’m confident that she will continue to demonstrate the same diligence, perseverance, and optimism that she has showed myself and her peers. I am excited to see what she will accomplish in the future. Her cheerful nature and openness to feedback means she’s always learning and growing as a learner. She has impressive strength that will continue to serve her well in college and beyond. She is a driven, engaging, and curious student.”

Yara’s Science Teacher, Mr. Obrien adds, “It is a pleasure to have Yara as a student in my physics class.  She is intelligent, diligent and above all her outstanding work ethic is contagious, drawing those seated around her into actively engaging in their tasks.”

Yara is also very active in ISR’s Student Leadership Council. Ms. Bowien, ISR’s SLC Coordinator, as well as Yara’s former Math Teacher says, “Yara is currently the team leader of the SLC School Spirit Department. She has done such an amazing job this year! She is well organized, a hard worker, a proactive student, and just generally polite, friendly, funny, and a delight to work with. Yara is going to be the Head Prefect next year and I know that she will do an outstanding job.”

Ms. Bowien adds, “Not only is Yara a great leader and team player for the Student Leadership Council, but she is also academically very strong. I taught her Mathematics last year, and she is a truly gifted Mathematician who is well organized and dedicated to her schoolwork.”

We are very proud to spotlight Yara, one of ISR’s many outstanding students!

The ISR Student Spotlight Project aims to highlight one of our students from the ISR-Community every Friday, who embodies our guiding principle “We Enable Great Minds and Strong Characters” by consistently surpassing themselves. Whether through outstanding academic achievements, exceptional dedication, or remarkable character traits – we take pride in having already showcased hundreds of students – and there is more to look forward to every week!
