Student Spotlights: Spotlight On Our Student David

Friday, 13 November 2020

This week, we spotlight our eleventh grader David, who joined ISR in Kindergarten. Ms. Vrem-Ydstie, Head of the Kindergarten in Neuss, still remembers David well and describes him as a very committed student, “David was always very focused and he is now participating in the KG STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) project, sharing his interest in Science with ISR’s youngest minds. They enjoy his thoughtful presentations every week”.

Science is one of David’s greatest interests, which is why one of his IGCSE exams is Physics. After his graduation he is pursuing a career in Economics. His academic achievements are excellent and to that he is also highly engaged in school life at ISR. He is an active part of the MUN Executive Team as the Head of Logistics and regularly attends MUN conferences throughout the school year. He reads about and discusses current events. “His sense of humor, intelligence and empathy make him an outstanding student and delegate,” emphasizes his Academic Coordinator, Ms. McGee.

As part of his CAS project, David is also involved in ISR Student Life OrganizationⓇ and is currently running the Social Responsibilities Department which focuses on green initiatives and community service. He is organizing various actions like the “Tea Towel Donation” and the “Plastic Bottle Donation” to further strengthen environmental awareness at the ISR. His CAS teacher, Mr. Urban, adds, “I have known David since my first year at ISR and he was always a determined, reliable and friendly student, whom I appreciate very much!”.

We are very proud to spotlight David one of ISR’s many outstanding students!

Every Friday, our Student Spotlight Project aims to highlight one of our outstanding students who represent our school motto, “we enable great minds and strong characters”. No matter if it is academic success, special commitment or outstanding character traits – we look forward to sharing each of these success stories.
