History Presentation by Bridget King

Sunday, 06 October 2019

Last week, Tuesday, Ms. Bridget King gave a talk to grade 11 history students about her family’s history in Germany and experiences during the Nazi regime and the Holocaust. The compelling talk weaved a family narrative with the broader history of the era, describing what Ms. King called a “normal experience” for Jewish families in the 1930s.

The impressive range of sources and artifacts she shared brought her family’s tragic story to life for the students and served as a real life supplement to material studied in history books and in classes.

We would like to thank Ms. King for sharing her experiences with the class and for making herself available to students who are now very interested in engaging in their own research into their family histories after this talk.
