The Talentprojekt won against Fortuna U16!

Congratulations! Our students from the Talentprojekt won big against Fortuna U16 last Thursday. In its first win vs. a Bundesliga academy team, The Talentprojekt defeated Fortuna Düsseldorf 6-0. The six goals allowed were the most by Fortuna in a match this season.

Mark Dillon, Talentprojekt Founder, calls the victory “a statement game for us because we’ve proven we can play against the top academies”. He noted that in Thursday’s win we “finished our chances where we hadn’t in previous matches. This team is growing enormously”.

Talentprojekt Head Coach Samir Sisic was thrilled with the result, adding that we had previously come close to wins vs. professional youth teams Borussia Mönchengladbach and Vitesse Arnhem: “We showed that we have the ability to win these matches, and today a lot of things worked for us”.

Sisic says, “We wanted the guys to try to be as effective as possible and the first three or four chances we had were goals. In the matches before, we had a lot of control; our play was beautiful, but not effective. That cost us the result. But today, we played brutally effective. It was our first win vs. a team of this caliber, and I don’t want it to be the last win”.

The Talentprojekt looks to continue its success in upcoming matches vs. SpVgg Greuther Fürth, SC Nürnberg and FC Schalke 04.
