China-Germany Children’s Painting Exhibition

We are delighted to be part of a very special international art and cultural exchange project: the China-Germany Children’s Painting Exhibition.

The project was initiated in cooperation with the Chinesisches Kulturzentrum in Berlin, which invited ISR to participate in an artistic exchange connecting young people from Germany and China through creativity and art.

Under the guidance of our ISR Art Teachers, Ms. Henebry and Ms. Schultz, 30 ISR art students created artworks exploring how they perceive China from their own perspective, as well as how they see and represent their own home country, city, and surroundings.

The artworks were then sent to China, where they became part of the international exhibition “Let Dreams Fly – Children’s Paintings from Hubei, China and Berlin, Germany” at the Hubei Provincial Library. The exhibition opened in July and brought together artworks by children from Hubei Province and Germany. While the Chinese works were selected from almost 1,000 submissions, the German contributions were created by our students.

A particularly special part of the project is a collaborative artwork created across both countries. On July 29, ten children from Hubei worked on two five-meter-long scroll paintings, with sections intentionally left unfinished for children in Germany to continue and complete.

We are very proud of our students for sharing their creativity and perspectives with an international audience and sincerely thank Ms. Henebry and Ms. Schultz for guiding them throughout this inspiring project.

Our sincere thanks also go to the Chinesisches Kulturzentrum in Berlin for initiating this wonderful project and making this meaningful cultural exchange possible. We are proud of our positive partnership and look forward to continuing our collaboration in the future.

The cultural exchange continues – on November 6th, the artworks will be exhibited at ISR.
