20 US Soccer Talents join ISR upcoming School Year
Thursday, 08 August 2019
Exciting news for ISR: At a kick-off BBQ last Friday, ISR welcomed 20 American students in Grades 9 and 10. The students are coming to Germany for a year as part of a talent project, to get to know German culture, and to improve their football skills. Students will attend ISR, stay with host families to get to know more about life in Germany, and train with our PE teacher, Karsten Baumann, who played 261 Bundesliga games for the German soccer slubs 1. FC Köln, Borussia Dortmund and who has coached several other professional clubs.
The training will take place at the neighboring sports facility, PSV Neuss, which ISR took over at the beginning of the year and upgraded this summer. Within this modernization of PSV, a new artificial turf pitch will be built in the upcoming months which will be necessary for the training of the 20 US talents. In addition to the modernization of the sports facility and our top notch coaching team, the talent project is another component of the expansion of high-quality sports activities at ISR.
We would like to deeply thank all participants and host families for making this project possible and we’re looking forward to the upcoming school year with our new American students! Welcome to ISR: Kainoa, Jack, Carlos, Ethan, Brock, David, Ryan, Aiden, Edwin, Wyatt, Andrew, Brayden, Luca, Hunter, Anderson, Cameron, Berin, Cameron and Rohan!
