SLO® Deputy Head Prefects and Senior Prefects hosted the annual “Lock-In” on Friday, 2nd October. Students arrived at ISR at 8pm with games, sweets, sleeping bags and smiles ready to get “locked in” school overnight! Games in the Sports Hall, a midnight pizza snack, movies, a FIFA tournament, nail painting and even 2 piñatas kept students awake throughout the night! At 8am on Saturday morning parents arrived to collect their sleepy, yet happy, children.
We would like to congratulate Lena Walterscheidt on her most recent accomplishment. She was awarded the “Golden Badge” (“Goldenes Reitabzeichen”) by Lutz Bartsch, chairman of the Rhineland Area Equestrian Association. The Golden Badge is the highest award that a rider can receive in Germany. It cannot be obtained through training courses or a test, but only through success in competitions.
Parents and children alike enjoyed sunshine, happy painted faces, and great conversations at the Sonnenblumenfest in Meerbusch Büderich. Oxana’s Musicbox joined us with their electric drums and set the beat for a great afternoon. Children of all ages could take a turn and let out their inner rock star.
We would like to thank all of the families who stopped by our US bus to say hi and spend time with us. Thank you to all of our artistically talented students who face painted and represented our school. It was great seeing everyone there. We are already looking forward to next year!
ISR families from Grade 7 & 8 students got together last Sunday to go bowling. These Kick-Off parties for the different grades offer the opportunity for parents of old and new students to get together and mingle. Everyone had a lot of fun seeing familiar faces and making new friends.
Thank you to everyone who came out and made it such a wonderful experience!
About 400 members of the ISR community came together and celebrated last Friday, September 4th. This event full of music and classic cars was like none that ISR had ever seen. Let’s Celebrate: success stories of music, cars and education. Michael Becker, director of the Tonhalle Düsseldorf, was excited to cross the river and be a part of a Rhein-Kreis-Neuss event with such talented youth.
DEG Newcomer, Norm Milley’s two goals in the Champions League played a significant role in the victory over Linz. On Wednesday, Milley could take his son to his first day of school.
Grade 3A is excited to welcome another new student to their class!
Dear ISR families, friends, and students,
We had the pleasure of welcoming 98 new students, parents, and families to ISR so far this school year. Today was an important day especially for our little ones. With “Schultüten” in hand, we welcomed three classes of 43 first graders to their first day of school.
We are looking forward to getting to know you all better!
