Inktober is a month-long art challenge, created by artist Jake Parker, that focuses on improving drawing skills and developing positive habits. According to one popular study, it takes anywhere from 18 to 254 days for people to form a new habit. As author John Irving said, “Good habits are worth being fanatical about.” Every day for the month of October anyone participating in the Inktober challenge creates an ink drawing and posts it online.
The “Wheels For Wheels”- project, initiated by the two grade 12 students Eric and Max as part of their IB - CAS commitment, has come to an end. After many training sessions, 260 km were cycled through Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium over a 7-day journey during their summer break. Additionally, the committed students sold key-chains and other biking accessories during various ISR school events, in order to raise even more money for their project.
Kento, now in Grade 12, has been at ISR since 8th Grade. He is a dedicated and brilliant Mathematician, Physicist, and Computer Scientist. He is planning to study Computer Science at a German university and has just completed his C1 exam in German, which he completed after only 4 years of study!
Today, ISR celebrated Stomp Out Bullying Day. Under the theme, Don’t Stand By, Stand Up, the goal of this event is to raise awareness for bullying prevention across the school and to teach our students kindness, respect, and compassion for others. In primary school, the students celebrated Kindness Day.
This is what we call the ISR Team Spirit: This afternoon, three mixed ISR soccer teams played in a friendly tournament against students from St. George’s. All students had a lot of fun and both teams showed an amazing team spirit today. In the end, our blue team was lucky enough to win all four matches – congratulations!
Lisa is now in her last year of school and is currently preparing for her IB exams. She is interested in studying Sciences and is taking high level Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry. For her IB CAS project, Lisa has continued with the Ocean Cleaning Project, first initiated by her older brother.
Congratulations! Our students from the Talentprojekt won big against Fortuna U16 last Thursday. In its first win vs. a Bundesliga academy team, The Talentprojekt defeated Fortuna Düsseldorf 6-0. The six goals allowed were the most by Fortuna in a match this season.
