In response to requests from parents, ISR has added swimming lessons to our Physical Education program. Starting this academic year, Grade 2 students will have the opportunity to participate in supervised swimming lessons during their normal PE lessons. Today, our first swimmers got into the water. Apart from the regular PE instructors, three additional qualified swimming coaches were on hand to help our beginners get secure in the water and to coach our advanced students to improve their swimming skills.
Yesterday‘s Kö-Lauf was another huge success! Over a hundred students, parents, and staff members ran, cheered, and celebrated with great spirit at the Königsallee Düsseldorf Run. Special congratulations to two of our students, Malak and Luca, who finished first in the Bambinilauf and the U8 Run! Everyone today did an amazing job and we’re more than proud to have such a sporty ISR Community!
Today, we were honored to welcome Mr. Stefan Koetz (Head of Customer Unit West Europe & Global Customer Unit Deutsche Telekom at Ericsson GmbH) accompanied by his colleague to ISR. Mr. Koetz visited our students and held a thought-provoking presentation on technological advancements made in this modern world, especially in the communications industry.
Our Student Spotlight this week is our student Felicia, who has been at ISR since she was three years old. Now, she is in her final year of kindergarten. Felicia has learned a lot at ISR over the past years and is very proud of herself. She always starts the day in a relaxed manner and to her friends she is an indispensable part of the ISR community. Felicia is at first a reserved character, but quickly blossoms and enchants her peers with a warm and friendly smile.
Today, students, staff, and teachers alike dressed up in ISR colors for our Back to School Spirit Day! Students embraced this spirit day and red, blue, and yellow could be seen across the school. To make this day even sweeter, Spirit, our school mascot, joined us in the foyer in the morning and welcomed students and our Head and Deputy Head Prefects from our student leadership team handed out pencil and easers to each student. What a great way to start the weekend!
Luis, Grade 9, started at ISR in Kindergarten and since then he has continued to enrich the ISR community. He is a wonderful student whose talents reach far beyond the classroom. He has been performing magic shows, not only at ISR events, but also at children’s birthdays and other events for many years. Magic is his great passion and so he enchants his audience with his charming, cheeky, and funny demeanour on stage.
