First DFB-Junior-Coach Training @ ISR
Ten students from ISR International School on the Rhine and neighbouring schools were awarded certificates as DFB-Junior-Coaches on July 7. The ten student athletes had spent the week training with officials from the Rhein-Kreis-Neuss coaching certification body.
After 40 training units, taught by coaches Mirko Schweikhard (FVN), Markus Bartsch (PSV Neuss) and Axel Lehnen (ISR Neuss), the junior coaches were able to obtain their certificates, which were presented by Roland Bürger (Chairman of the Schulfußballausschuss). ISR also was pleased to welcome Mr. Tillmann Lonnes, School Director for Rhein-Kreis-Neuss, Mr. Göste Müller, Managing Director of the Sport Council of Neuss, and Mr. Dirk Gärtner, District Chairman of the Football Association of the Niederrhein, amongst other distinguished visitors. Commerzbank, which as a premium partner of the DFB supports this training, was represented by Mr. Alexander Weckauf.
This training in both theory and practice is intended to prepare the students to work as children's coaches in community associations, or as head of a football club in schools. ISR and the football association of Niederrhein will be very happy if the DFB junior coaches continue their enthusiastic interest in football for many years to come. Armed with their experience, they can pass on their valuable, newly-acquired knowledge and skills both to schools and to a variety of municipal clubs and associations.
In loving memory of Michael Veldung, who initiated this project but can't be here with us to celebrate it. We do miss you!
