Bike-a-thon at ISR
Cycling for a good cause – Our students in Grades 4–6 participated in several “bike-a-thons” last week to support the “Deutsche Welthungerhilfe e. V.” The ISR Bike-a-thon took place on our parking lot, which was set up to resemble a bicycle race track.
For each completed round, the students earned a certain amount of money from their donors: parents, relatives or friends. This motivated the students and they were eager to ride as many rounds as possible- and had lots of fun while doing so. All monies collected will be donated to the Welthungerhilfe e.V. to support important projects.
Ms Eileen Lyons, Director of the School emphasised that “At ISR, it’s very important for us to foster our students’ values and show them that it is important to share and think about others”.
We would like to thank all attendees, donors, spectators and especially the students, who showed such an outstanding commitment to the project. A further thank you goes to Ms. Krebs, who provided bikes and helmets to ensure that all students could participate safely and still enjoy the bike-a-thon!
We are delighted that Ms Hawa Grund-Djigo from the organisation “Welthungerhilfe” gave the students a short insight into their various projects and even supported one of the bike-a-thons live.
