In a friendly get-together parents and staff enjoyed a delicious breakfast with homemade food from all over the world in our school today. It was a great opportunity for new parents to get to know other parents and exchange some stories about the school year so far.We would like to thank our amazing Parent Network for organizing this wonderful breakfast!
Today we were honored to welcome an ISR mother and doctor, Ms. Dr. Vali-Pursche here at ISR.Ms. Vali-Pursche and her team came to visit our 1–4 graders armed with posters, colorful balloons, small gifts, dental hygiene products and interesting presentations about dental hygiene and how to prevent caries and gingivitis.
On Saturday, April 21st, hundreds of partners, guests and friends of ISR came together to celebrate our wonderful ISR International Spring Festival 2018 in the warm sunshine. Many ISR families from more than 40 countries came dressed in traditional costumes to represent their country. In addition to showcasing their national games and crafts, they brought delicious homemade delicacies from all over the world for the delicious “Taste of the World” buffet.
Thirty-four ninth graders, accompanied by Mr. Barnett, Ms. Cross and Mr. Capé, recently spent four days touring numerous historical sites in Berlin. The group was lucky to have had excellent April weather, turning the long walks into pleasant journeys.
It’s official. Our “ISR goes Green” project is going into the next round: Two solar panels have been successfully set up and have been tested by the students during lessons. After several solar panels were installed on the school’s rooftop to generate electricity, the first of these can now be used for educational purposes.
For the third time since 2016, the car of “France Mobil” stopped at ISR. All interested Grade 5–7 students had the opportunity to attend a session of “France Mobil” today animated by Madame Claire Noël, a French language assistant from the Institut français of Düsseldorf. It was an excellent occasion for the grade 5 students to get in contact with the French language and culture, through several original interactive and edu-tainment activities.
On Saturday 31st March, students, parents and teachers participated in the first ever Neuss Easter Running Race and the ISR Bambini-Lauf. Our ISR running star and teacher Nikki Johnstone finished the race within 01:08:51 and reached the final lane in the 1st position!
