Over 1000 family members and guests celebrated the diversity of our ISR community at our annual International Day on January 30th. Our students and teachers diligently worked on researching and presenting the focus countries for this year: Ireland, Spain, Turkey, France, North America, Germany, United Kingdom and Indonesia.
On January 21st, a King’s College representative held a presentation on how to choose a course, how to apply to King’s, how to write a good personal statement, and about the cost of living in London. It was an excellent presentation and a great opportunity to get first-hand information on this wonderful university.
This college is placed highly in international rankings. In 2015 it ranked 19th in the world (5th in the UK and 7th in Europe) in the QS World University Rankings.
We were honoured to welcome the Consul General of the Russian Federation- Mr. Sedykh, Representative of the Trade and Business Bureau in Berlin- Dr. Ilskiy, Mayor of Neuss- Mr. Breuer, District Administrator for the County of Neuss - Mr. Petrauschke, and Representative of the IHK Mittlerer Niederrhein- Mr. Enders to our school on Wednesday, 13th January. Many parents from our Russian community enjoyed meeting and interacting with our distinguished guests.
The goal of the visit was to emphases the German-Russian dialog and to lay the foundation for an innovative, future-oriented, and open collaboration. Future plans and projects were discussed such as a German-Russian student exchange, Russian literature in our library, and expanding the cultural cooperation in Bonn and Neuss.
Our students who take French in grade 6–7 along with students in grade 5 who are interested in taking French next year enjoyed two special guests from the France Mobil Team. Manon Laurine and Bénédicte Leude enthusiastically led the French classes and brought various games to help the students interact and use the language. The classroom was full of laughter and an eagerness to learn which was inspiring to see.
As part of our commitment to continually improve our school, we have completely updated our computer equipment in the exam hall. We now have 90 workstations with state of the art computers to accommodate the growth in our student body. The server has also been improved upon and together with the new hardware will enable a faster and more efficient connection for our students.
Santa visited all classrooms and surprised students, teachers and staff members with small treats.

The evening did not have a very Christmassy feel because of the rain and mild temperature, but our young choir and dancing team managed to raise Christmas cheer amongst the audience.
Well done girls and boys: proof once again of your amazing talent!
