ISR Graduates Celebrate at Düsseldorf City Hall

On Friday, June 15th, International School on the Rhine awarded the Class of 2018 its High School Diploma’s at the Plenary Hall of Düsseldorf City Hall. The students have successfully completed their exams and now proudly possess their Sabis® High School Diploma’s. A total of 10 nationalities were represented by the students in the plenary hall that evening.

Goalkeeper training for our talents

In the course of our cooperation with PSV Neuss, two goalkeepers of ISR and PSV had the opportunity to train with former Bundesliga goalkeeper of 1. FC Köln and Eintracht Frankfurt, Markus Pröll. They had two hours to prove their skills and could take home valuable tricks and tips for their goalkeeping. Manuel Neuer – watch out!!

Students visit European Central Bank

Grade 10 and 11 Economics students visited the European Central Bank in Frankfurt to learn how the monetary policy is created and sustained. It was a great hands-on opportunity to bring alive knowledge learnt in the classroom and transport it to the place where policy is actually made.

ISR greenhouse project

The plants from Ms Knights’ Biology class are moving to the greenhouse! As part of a biology project in 11th grade the students moved their plants into the greenhouse today. We are all excited to see the outcome of the experiment what makes a plant grow better. Also the way potatoes are cared for. Let’s see if they make it before the summer break!

Preparing for first grade

As an international school, we are happy to incorporate some local German traditions such as that of the obligatory “Schultüte” (school cone) to celebrate starting the 1st Grade. The cone is given to children to make this anxiously awaited first day of school a little sweeter. On Friday, parents whose children go to Grade 1 in August were invited to come in and craft a “Schultüte” together with their child.
