ISR is accredited by the German authorities as an ‘Anerkannte Internationale Ergänzungsschule’ (International Supplementary School) and by the US accrediting agency Cognia (formerly known as AdvancED). ISR is an IB World School authorized to offer the IB Diploma Programme, and also offers Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) IGCSE courses. The school is a certified member of the Council of International Schools (CIS).

We are seeking a dedicated and qualified full-time IGCSE & IB DP Chemistry, and Secondary School Science Teacher to join our dynamic educational institution. The teacher will be expected to create and deliver engaging lessons that captivate students' interest and foster a deep understanding of the core concepts within the realms of Business, Economics, and Humanities.

This encompasses not only conveying theoretical knowledge but also applying innovative teaching methodologies to cultivate critical thinking skills and real-world applicability.

 

Responsibilities

Your Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure high-quality delivery of teaching and learning experiences aligned with the Secondary School Science, IGCSE and IB Chemistry curriculum
  • Design and implement effective assessments that align with IB standards and accurately measure student understanding of scientific concepts
  • Stay abreast of the latest developments and best practices in the field of IGCSE and IB Chemistry education, maintaining an up-to-date knowledge base
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to support their learning and academic growth
  • Monitor and enhance student progress, welfare, and academic outcomes within the realm of science
  • Take a proactive role in implementing school policies, with a specific focus on safeguarding and promoting equal opportunities for all students
  • Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to the development and improvement of the Chemistry and Science curriculum
Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Possession of a recognized teaching qualification such as PGCE, PGDip, BA, MA, MBA, Qualified Teacher Status, or an equivalent teaching credential, along with documentation of ongoing professional development
  • Proven experience in teaching Chemistry at the IGCSE and IB Diploma levels
  • Familiarity with assessment practices related to IB and IGCSE frameworks
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate technology and innovative teaching methods into the Science curriculum
  • Collaborative mindset, showcasing the ability to work effectively with colleagues and contribute to a cohesive department
  • Evidence of involvement in extracurricular activities, such as student clubs
    or academic competitions, related to the Humanities field
