“ISR goes Green” Project Goes into the Next Phase

It’s official. Our “ISR goes Green” project is going into the next round: Two solar panels have been successfully set up and have been tested by the students during lessons. After several solar panels were installed on the school’s rooftop to generate electricity, the first of these can now be used for educational purposes.

France Mobil @ ISR

For the third time since 2016, the car of “France Mobil” stopped at ISR. All interested Grade 5–7 students had the opportunity to attend a session of “France Mobil” today animated by Madame Claire Noël, a French language assistant from the Institut français of Düsseldorf. It was an excellent occasion for the grade 5 students to get in contact with the French language and culture, through several original interactive and edu-tainment activities.

Osterlauf Neuss

On Saturday 31st March, students, parents and teachers participated in the first ever Neuss Easter Running Race and the ISR Bambini-Lauf. Our ISR running star and teacher Nikki Johnstone finished the race within 01:08:51 and reached the final lane in the 1st position!

Congratulations to all participants for successfully taking part in this great sporting event and thank you for joining us on this sunny race day!

Highlight of the IB Art Exhibition

As of yesterday, art enthusiasts can see selected artworks of our IB students at the Deutsche Bank on Düsseldorf’s Königsallee (Königsallee 45–47, 40212 Düsseldorf). The exhibition will be on display until the 12th of April. We are very happy that the students have been given this great opportunity.

Many thanks goes to the Deutsche Bank, which once again has supported our IB students and offered them this enriching opportunity.

40th Sportsmen of the Year Ceremony at ISR

Yesterday we were excited to host the final, “NGZ-Sportlerwahl des Jahres” (Sportsman of the Year) award ceremony at ISR. For the 40th year in a row, the sportsman of the year was chosen by NGZ readers and honored at the event. In addition to many different awards, interviews and acts. One spectacular highlight was the appearance of Fabian Hambüchen, a former German gymnast and Olympic Champion.

Dr Seuss’ birthday

The Kindergarten celebrated Dr Seuss’ birthday on Friday, March 2nd.  During the week, the children read stories written by the famous children’s author.  His wacky use of language in books such as “The Cat in the Hat”, “The Lorax”, “Fox in Socks” and “The Foot Book” is enjoyable for people of all ages to read. On Friday the Kindergarten team and children dressed up in  outfits inspired by Dr Seuss’ books: in wacky socks and hats, costumes like Thing 1 and Thing 2 and the Cat in the Hat. It was a fun day!

ISR Goes Green – Photovoltaic system installed on ISR’s roof

Since Monday, the solar panels installed on our rooftop are up and running and generating electricity. The solar plant is expected to produce 24,000 to 30,000 kilowatt hours (kWh) of energy per year. During normal school operation, the energy generated ecologically will be used completely to cover the needs of the school. On weekends and holidays, when less energy is needed, the school will feed the electricity into the public grid.
