It is already a tradition at ISR to give our talented IB students the opportunity to share their art work with the public. This year’s annual art exhibition took place at the public library of Meerbusch. The grand opening took place on the 9th of April with the artists, fellow students, teachers, families, members of the ISR Community and many art interested residents of the Neuss/Düsseldorf/Cologne Region. It was great to see the achievements of our young talented students – ISR is very proud of you!
What an unforgettable experience! Sixty-five children and 30 adults from ISR’s community got to be part of this year’s carnival parade in Düsseldorf. And even better, they were able to present their school, ISR International School on the Rhine (ISR), in front of an audience of 1.3 million people along the parade route. Everyone was dressed in blue overalls. The children wore bright wigs in the school colors – yellow, blue, and red, and the adults wore graduation caps. ISR’s float motto was “Mirror, mirror, on the wall, who has the best students of all?” The motto was also printed on a banner which was carried by ISR Investor Peter Soliman, children, parents, and teachers.
For families looking for educational solutions in the Dusseldorf region, you are invited to attend our Open House on Saturday, February 15th, 2014 from 13:00-18:00 hrs. Experience why ISR's graduates go to top universities: Demo lessons in English, math, German, science, social studies and more! In addition:
- First 10 enrolments from 15 February will receive a waived school place reservation fee
- More scholarships for academic year 2014-15
- Win a 2-week youth trip to the USA
- Live music and food
Things are changing at ISR. Even our name! This week, Investor Peter Soliman signed a licensing agreement with SABIS® Educational Systems. In the coming months, ISR will change its status from a limited liability company (LLC or in German GmbH) to become a non-profit organization with the name, "ISR International School on the Rhine gGmbH."
This new business structure will allow ISR, among other things, to accept tax-deductible donations. ISR will also be able to more-than-double its offer of scholarships.
The UCC office at ISR is happy to report the incredible offers coming in from top universities for the Class of 2014!
All the UK applications and most of the US applications went out by mid-December. “We had wonderful offers so far and not a single decline,” said UCC counselor Ms. Wacker. “In addition, ISR students were invited to 7 interviews so far. Of these, 5 were followed by an offer from the university and 2 more decisions are still pending. This is excellent news!” Dutch applications have started and continued after the Holiday Break.
Ms. Wacker continued, “Thank you, students, for the hard work you put in! Your efforts are rewarded with outstanding university offers.”
We would like to thank all students and families who donated to this year’s Adopt-a-Family Program. Your generosity has allowed families around Neuss region to have a better, more harmonious and enjoyable time this special holiday season.
All the money collected, 2€ per child and per homeroom from grades 4 to 12, was used to buy presents for needy children. On 19th December Student Life prefects from grade 11 delivered the presents to the KITA Arche Noah in Neuss. The children from this Kindergarten were delighted!
Thank you to everyone for attending, planning, and/or performing at ISR’s Winter Concert! We were so proud of our wonderful students. Mrs. O’Reilly, Year Group Leader of the ISR Kindergarten, said the children particularly enjoyed their special “Snack Time” together.
We would like to wish you all safe travels and happy holidays.
