The Kindergarten celebrated Dr Seuss’ birthday on Friday, March 2nd. During the week, the children read stories written by the famous children’s author. His wacky use of language in books such as “The Cat in the Hat”, “The Lorax”, “Fox in Socks” and “The Foot Book” is enjoyable for people of all ages to read. On Friday the Kindergarten team and children dressed up in outfits inspired by Dr Seuss’ books: in wacky socks and hats, costumes like Thing 1 and Thing 2 and the Cat in the Hat. It was a fun day!
Since Monday, the solar panels installed on our rooftop are up and running and generating electricity. The solar plant is expected to produce 24,000 to 30,000 kilowatt hours (kWh) of energy per year. During normal school operation, the energy generated ecologically will be used completely to cover the needs of the school. On weekends and holidays, when less energy is needed, the school will feed the electricity into the public grid.
Last Sunday, 25th February, we were honored to welcome our Chinese partner school “Mingde Chinesische Schule” here at ISR. They celebrated a colorful and traditional Chinese New Year 2018 and everyone had a great time. Delicious homemade food, several stage performances and an exciting raffle rounded the wonderful celebration off.
For the first of all times, ISR hosted the school area championships in chess yesterday. It was a pleasure to welcome over 25 schools from the Neusser area. At the end of the day, ISR celebrated especially one big success. Our talented student Mehul (4C) won the individual evaluation at the primary school competition.
