In preparation for the school football championship next week, our U15 school team scored an amazing score of 7: 2 home win against St. George's School in a friendly match. Despite 0:1 after the first minute, our ISR team fought and won because of their indefatigable outing, their alacrity and their outstanding competitive spirit. ISR Soccer Coach Carlos Small praised the team for their commitment and looks forward to the school football championships.
As part of our online safety topic this week, grade 3 used Purplemash to practice writing a class blog about what they use the Internet for. They each contributed to the blog and discussed how the internet can be used to help us to communicate effectively. In addition they were able to try out the new headsets by exploring the maths games in Purplemash.
Last Sunday, the well-known horse race, organized by Engel & Völkers, took place at the Galopprennbahn in Düsseldorf-Grafenberg for the fifth time in a row.Horse enthusiasts and visitors alike enjoyed the bright sunshine and came in droves to watch the races and the fantastic horses. The younger visitors were especially excited to see our school mascot, Spirit.
Last Saturday, we once again kicked off the new school year by celebrating our annual Family Fun and Sports Day. All students experienced an exciting day, full of activities, fun and sports- bad weather notwithstanding!
This year's Kö-Marathon, held by the Stadtwerke Düsseldorf was once again the sporting event of the year for all athletes and sport enthusiastics from Düsseldorf and around. Our yellow school bus, the ISR running team as well as our mascot spirit were all over the place during the race.
Our plan for Saturday last week: Rowing for a good cause! A total of 80 teams took part in the charity regatta “Düsseldorf am Ruder für Menschen mit Krebs” and gave their best to raise awareness for this important cause and to generate funds for the “Krebsgesellschaft Nordrhein-Westfalen”.
Yesterday we happily welcomed our 1st graders to their First Day of School. Our Grade 1 students proudly stood in front of our photo wall and happily posed with their fabulous ‘Schultüten’.
