Our class trip to the marvellous city of Paris from November 28th to the December 2nd was an enjoyable and entertaining trip both for the class and also for the two chaperones Mr. Urban and Mr. Martini. It consisted of a visit to the busiest tourist sites – the grand Eiffel Tower, the great Louvre museum, the elegant church of Sacre-Coeur and a mount up to the top of the triomphe. We all enjoyed the delicious French food and the charming French culture. Despite being very much exhausted after the four day stay, we had a wonderful time and some fun in figuring out the Parisian metro routes. It was a trip planned by the class for the class. Great job to the three G11s who planned it for us: Robert J., Julius W. and Jonas B.

ISR celebrated another International Day on Saturday, the 9th November and we had the pleasure to welcome ca. 1000 visitors, including ISR families and friends. Our focus countries this year were: Singapore, Canada, the Netherlands, Lebanon, Bulgaria, and Nigeria. Activities included face painting, making bracelets, making paper roses, getting your name written in Bulgarian, playing marbles, a tombola and much more.
Some imagery from the Kindergarten Halloween Party. The children had a wonderful day and particularly enjoyed 'trick-or-treating' throughout the school. And those who were throughout the school particularly enjoyed having their day brightened by the kindergartners.
At the Class of 2013’s graduation, the kickoff to a year-long celebration of ISR’s 10th anniversary, Mrs. Tatjana Breloh shared heartfelt memories of what it has been like to be an ISR mom over the last 10 years. She was asked to speak on behalf of the Parent Network, and her words were so moving that it was, in that moment, a shame that ISR’s graduation isn't an open invitation to the entire community. Given ISR’s 10th anniversary celebration(pictured) which took place on Sunday, 15 September 2013, we thought it appropriate to share Mrs. Breloh’s speech – there wasn't a dry eye in the house! We hope you can share in our pride when you read the following:
For the third year Deputy Head Prefects organised the SABIS Student Life Organisation®, a leadership weekend, which took place in Straelen-Herongen in the Lower Rhine region last weekend. The preparation started well before the end of last school year. 33 prefects from Grades 7 to 12 participated this event. The purpose was to get to know all prefects who joined the organization this year, learn how to work together as a team and to develop communication and leadership skills while having fun!
Results of the May 2013 International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme were released in July and reflect impressive performance for 2013 ISR Graduates. Just as impressive is ISR’s list of offers from universities. With each cohort, a greater number of ISR graduates have been in the rigorous SABIS® system for a longer period of time. The IB results show that:
